Courage to Keep Trying

You’ve made the courageous decision to go to therapy, maybe for the first time or for another round. You feel vulnerable. It’s getting harder and harder to stay hopeful that your life can change.

On the outside, you seem “fine” to the people around you. In fact, you can’t remember the last time some asked you how you really are beyond surface level stuff. But on the inside, you’re frustrated, hurting, and feeling defeated. After multiple attempts to create meaningful change in your life, nothing you’ve tried seems to stick. You feel like a failure.

How I Help You Change

My name is Emelly Rosspencer, LMFT. I am a lover of people and a coach and cheerleader for creating change in people’s life. I help people shift the way they think and feel about creating change – from trying, pushing, striving, forcing, and using brute willpower to accepting, grieving, releasing, forgiving, being present, and emerging. What if the change you’ve been hunting for outside of yourself has been with you all along, just waiting to be revealed? I can help you embrace a softer, more compassionate journey towards change that becomes a new, shatterproof lens for seeing your Self, others, and the world.

I specialize is creating transformation in the lives of people who’ve experienced all types of trauma, particularly trauma from childhood or relationships. I also help couples release and grow beyond old, ineffective ways of relating to naming, practicing, and living into their vision for their relationship.

Ready to Change

Going to therapy (possibly for the second or third time) takes courage. If you’re ready to take that step, give me a call or text me at 909-855-7081 to set up a 15 min consultation call. My specialties include couples and marriage therapy and trauma therapy.

My Education and Training as a California Therapist

I completed by therapy training at Loma Linda University School of Behavioral Health and graduated in 2016. I’ve worked as a therapist in variety of contexts, including community-based, non-profit organizations, schools and other academic settings, and in churches. From my experience providing therapy to a broad range of people and clarifying my personal interests and giftings, I chose to specialize in trauma therapy and couple and marriage therapy.

Trauma Training

I love the trauma recovery process. I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy and am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I also have training in mindfulness, somatic therapy, and trauma resiliency in community and group settings. Learn more about trauma therapy in California with me.

Couples & Marriage Therapy Training

In my work with couples therapy, I am trained in the Couples Developmental Model of Therapy, as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy. I actively participate in couple therapy training communities to offer my couples a well-rounded, multi-faceted, evidenced-based experience to support their relational growth and goals.
